Love Me Beauty Box | July 2013

I've only recently discovered the wonders of the beauty box.  I did not know such things existed until I entered the beauty blogger world.  What is a beauty box?  Basically, it's a box (well duh) delivered to your door on a monthly basis.  The Beauteco box (now called Love Me Beauty) contains 4 - 5 samples and/or full sized products from both well known and up and coming companies.  The great thing is is that you often get products that haven't even been released to the public yet and they are fantastic value for money.

Beautifully packaged and wrapped

What I got in my July Beauteco Box:
So as you can see, for £10 I got over £40 worth of products!  They also chucked in the nail varnish as an unexpected gift due to being a new member.  Woooo!
I gave away the hair care treatment as I have fine, normal hair and knew someone else's hair would appreciate the hydration more than mine.  I also got rid of the brow gel as it just wasn't 'my thing'.

So here is what I was left with:

I must say, I am in LOVE with Eve of St Agnes Refining Bamboo exfoliating polish.  It is so difficult to find a face scrub that isn't too abrasive and the micro fine bamboo particles do their job without damaging delicate skin.  The product is a white cream and though I only have a sample size, it has lasted a long time.  A pea size amount is enough to do my nose and chin, with a little excess to do the rest of my face.  The scent is that of citrus and sandalwood.  It is beautifully subtle and reminds me of drinking orangey mocktails in Spain as a child.  A little luxury in a jar.  The full size product is 50ml with a RRP of £18 and it is certainly a purchase I'll be making in the future.

Pukka is a brand I am very familiar with.  Their teas are delicious!  However, I had never tried their skincare range, or in fact any face serums.  The thought of using a serum made me think that my face would be all sticky and tight.  Wrong!  My face looked more hydrated and I felt like the darker areas beneath my eyes were ever so lighter.  I've been using it twice a day after cleansing and before moisturising and will continue to do so until my tube runs dry.  The full sized 50ml product is currently on sale at £24, down from £32.

As I said earlier, my hair is fine and as such, flat.  It is also currently quite short so volume is what I need and volume is what Neal & Wolf have provided.  After towel drying my hair, I applied the gel-like product to my hair before blow drying and using my paddle brush and round brush and WOOMPH!  Another great product that does exactly as it promises.  Goodbye flat, boring hair.  Hello big styled hair.

Now, Headline Colours is a tricky one.  The product itself is not tricky, my lack of nail-painting-skills is the problem.  I only paint my toes due to work restrictions for my hands.  I'm also terrible at painting nails, having very shaky hands so please excuse the mess in the following pictures.  Also, avert your eyes now if you dislike feet haha.  Sorry, not sorry.

I usually stick to pinks and blues so the Glamour colour was a bit different.  Gold has been very on trend this summers festival season.  I applied Barry M clear vanish as an undercoat and overcoat.  I've had it on for a few days now and it has not chipped which is fantastic.  Certainly a brand I'll be looking out for when I'm browsing the nail varnishes.

Phew!  That was a long post.  I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention something.  Do you receive any beauty boxes?  What discoveries have you made?  I'd really like to know your experiences with beauty boxes as I'm very new to the scene as you can see.

  2. I really like the look of this box, I still haven't tried any beauty boxs but i think i may have to have a look into ordering this one for next month as it looks great. That nail varnish must have been a lovely surprise, I bet it will look nice in the Christmas season when those colours are everywhere.
