Total Treat Argan Oil, Phil Smith - Review

I have never been one to use oil in my hair.  The thought alone is rather intimidating.  However, when I came across a 50ml sample of Phil Smiths Total Treat Argan Oil, I really wanted to try it as it is a cream rather than an oil.  I'm so glad I did, and it was really easy to use too.  It seems that I'm forever ignoring products only for one to come my way to discover that actually I love it.

After towel drying hair, you rub a pea sized amount of this exotic smelling, non-greasy white cream down the strands of your hair right to the tips before continuing with your regular styling.  For me I followed applying the cream with my regular heat protection spray and a quick zap of the hair dryer.  My hair is 'normal' and this product is for dry, coloured and damaged hair yet it did not make my hair oily or greasy in any way, in fact it made it easier to style.  My hair was much sleeker too.  Normally it is a bit frizzy, but after using this oil I feel that I looked like I'd just left the salon...  Except without freshly cut hair... or having spent £30+...  and in my dressing gown...

Phil Smith products are exclusive to Sainsburys and after trying the argan oil, I will definitely be trying more from this brand.  The products are all BUAV approved (which is enough in itself to make me swoon) and sold at bargain prices, especially when on offer.  I also really like the really simple yet sophisticated packaging.  I made my boyfriend grab me some Phil Smith Hot Stuff Heat Defence Spray for £2 (normally £4.09) when he was last in there despite the fact that I haven't ran out of the current spray I use.

Have any of your favourite products ever been ones you'd have ignored on the shelf?  Do you buy BUAV approved things?
