Murad Facial at House of Fraser - Review

A few months ago I was lucky enough to win a competition with Murad and received a facial for myself and a friend at House of Fraser on Oxford Street, London.

We easily found the Murad area in the beauty department where we were greeted by our therapist Jennifer. She was very knowledgeable on skincare and of the brand. We discussed my problem areas after she took a digital photo of my face. The computer was able to analyse fine lines and wrinkles, as well as premature skin ageing and sun damage. Fortunately my skin is in pretty good condition, just a little dehydrated. Oops.

The consultation lasted just under 10 minutes then Jennifer then led me to the therapy rooms on the lower ground floor. I was surprised as it felt like being at a spa rather than a department store. I have had massages before but never a facial. The idea of someone touching my face has always been really off-putting but I was so wrong! The facial was specifically targeted to my skincare needs and lasted for just over an hour. A special steamer was placed near my head to open the pores and multiple lotions and potions were used before being cleansed. The facial included a neck and shoulder massage, as well as foot rotation and hand massage which only added to my enjoyment and relaxation. It was heavenly! I did not want the hour to end.

I wish I had taken before and after photos as I was shocked at the result. I can see why Murad is so popular with the celebrities (A guy from Home & Away had a facial there a few weeks earlier.) My little frown lines ceased to exist and the lines between my lips and nose were barely noticeable. No skincare products I have used have made such a huge difference. I chose to take my sister who, like me, was also sceptical of facials. She even tried to get her boyfriend to take her place. She was so pleased with the experience that she happily went on to purchase some products for herself.

I will definitely have another Murad treatment in the future but sadly I live far from London. Luckily their treatments are available all over the UK and I've checked on their website to find one near me. Obviously the effects from the facial do not last forever but I've become a big fan of Murad and the recommended products from my skin analysis are on my birthday list.

Have you tried any Murad products? Have you ever had an experience you thought you'd hate only to find that is is amazing?

  1. This is very interesting, taking a digital photo of your face to establish the condition. The treatment sounds fab!

Hope you're well Helen (with reference to your previous post)!
