Fleabag Friday | Marble

Spots spots everywhere! Welcome Marble, a handsome dalmatian owned by Charlotte from Modicum of Motivation. A clever dog who can use a mobile phone and type it seems.

Marble
Hello! My name is Marble, but people call me Smuggy most of the time. I think it’s because I look very smug when people tickle my chest, or when they stroke the top of my head. I haven’t written anything about myself in a long time. The last time I did was when my owner Charlotte applied for a job at Lush. She got offered an interview, and the assistant manager said they’d never had any animals write to them before! That surprised me.

I'm nearly 13 years old. My owners used to have my mum (another Dalmatian called Pudding) as well. But she was very old and very ill, and she went away about a year ago. I handled it well, though. Charlotte’s dad had worried about how I’d cope for ages! Now he thinks I've forgotten that there was another dog here once.

Because I’d always lived with my mum, my owners say that I'm like a big puppy. I get scared if there are people I don’t know in the house. But I hide it by barking at them. If I know you well though, I always want your attention. The main way I try to get attention is by smiling. Sometimes when I do it, I get so excited that I end up giving myself sneezing fits.

I don’t like people taking photos of me when I smile. But you should Google it. Charlotte always has to tell people that I'm making a face because I'm happy – I think people think I'm going to bite them when I do it. She always tells me not to put my tongue in her mouth, too. I can’t think why!

I find toys quite boring. When Pudding went away, Charlotte’s dad got me a squeaky pig. He and Charlotte liked it more than I did! I don’t mind toys that have food in them. But when they’re empty, it’s game over. I normally entertain myself by pulling my blanket out of my bed, and lying on the floor instead. Charlotte tells me that I'm strange when I do it. She’s clearly jealous!

I'm glad that Helen wanted me to write this post. I think she publishes posts about other people’s pets every other Friday. I hope she doesn't get many entries from those horrible little things with long tails and pointy ears. They always come into my garden, and it makes me want to chase them! Grrr! Woof woof woof! (Excuse me…)

If you are interested in taking part in my Flea-Bag Friday series, please get in touch. All pets are welcome. Fish, frogs, donkeys, dogs, etc. Just comment below or send a tweet @teainthetub

Depending on the the response I get, I will be turning this into a competition where readers can vote on their favourite pet and the pet with the most votes will be sent some treats in the post.
