GUEST POST | Grease Lightning, Lush - Review

Today's post is brought to you by the lovely Lucy from Lucy's Little Blog. I hope you enjoy her review of a certain Lush product. This product was in my cupboard but thanks to her review, it's out and I'm using it quite often. Enjoy!

Hello my Lush loving lovelies! Today I will be telling you all about a product I brought from Lush a few months ago called Grease Lightning
I was recommended this product by my friend Tia. She said she loved it and I had a huge spot at the time so thought 'why not? Nothing can be worse than this blighter on my chin.'
It was £5.95 when I purchased it, it has now gone up to £6.25 according to their website. It isn't a very large bottle but not much is needed when applied.

It is said to "zap zits before they show themselves". I would definitely put emphasis on the "show themselves" part. This product works best on tiny spots or ones that are developing. It can be quite drying when used on full blown spots.
Saying this though, it does get rid of them. Smaller emerging spots will only take a couple of "zaps" before they are completely gone. Bigger spots can take a few days but it does get rid of them much quicker than it would of done naturally.

The ingredients are mostly natural. Ignore all the brackets in the list and you have some very common gentle products. There is only one "Safe Synthetic" in this called Methylparaben. This is used to lengthen the cell by date but parabens can be quite dangerous chemicals for the skin.

The packaging is natural Lush and I feel the name is pretty awesome. It also smells ok, unlike some skincare products. It smells mostly like aloe vera.

Overall, I found this product to be really good. I found it done a great job with my spots and really does stop me from having to deal with any nasty popping business. I do find it can be slightly drying but with a little moisturiser once the spot is gone, it is good as new. I would recommend this to others, it may be slightly pricier than those in the shops but I feel the good quality of the product makes up for it.

Thank you very much to Helen for letting me have a slot on her blog and come give Lucy's Little Blog a look!

Have you tried the Grease Lightning? What's your favourite Lush product?

    1. I'm slowly getting through mine. I like to add it to my moisturiser now and use it daily.

  3. I love Grease Lightning, sadly my blemishes always seem to reject a product after I finish it entirely once so I have to find alternatives :( x
