London Tea Review + GIVEAWAY! - CLOSED

I first heard of the London Tea Company when I visited the infamous Selfridges food court in London last winter. I was drawn to a tin of Tropical Green Tea pyramid bags which became a favourite as the tea was really delicate and sweet. Green tea gets bitter when it's over-brewed but even when I was clumsy and left the teabag in the cup it still tasted light and fresh. Sadly there were only 10 bags which swiftly ran out. As if sensing my distress The London Tea Company offered to kindly let me try their range. Even more generously they are offering TWO of my readers a chance to win their range as well. Yes you read that correctly, two winners!

The London Tea Company offer a vast variety of teas. Black, green, red, white and herbal. If you like an unusual drink, try a White Tea Pear Tatin or perhaps you're more of a regular London Breakfast drinker? They are available in regular teabags and pyramid teabags. I personally prefer the pyramid bags as I find they taste better. I especially like the Vanilla Chai pyramid bag. Lots of soya milk and a spoonful of brown sugar really hits the spot when I'm craving a biscuit and I feel much better afterwards. You don't need to be in London either as their teas are available to buy from their online shop here.

I know a few people who don't like hot drinks. Are they mad?!?! So I experimented and found that their Moroccan Mint and Peach & Rhubarb taste great as iced teas. Simply brew them up, wait for them to cool, chuck in a load of ice and enjoy. If you do enjoy hot teas and are also feeling like experimenting, Moroccan Mint with Sencha Green Tea in one cup is a marvellous combination. Refreshing and healthy!

To my knowledge, The London Tea Company are one of the only tea companies registered with the Vegetarian Society and they are even associated with Viva! a charity that is close to my heart ever since I became a vegetarian back in 2001. All of their teas are vegan and Fairtrade certified making them a very, very ethical company.

I love the packaging as they are all very 'Londony'. The little envelopes of tea depict someone enjoying a cup with an iconic London-based landmark behind them. I think my favourite has to be the image on the Raspberry Inferno which features a lady casually enjoying a book and mug of tea next to a fire extinguisher (inferno... get it?) with the London Eye behind her.
