Super Extreme Spending Ban!!!

I've seen many posts on spending bans in the past year. Some last a gruelling couple of months, whilst others fail at the first online offer. I sat back and thought how silly the whole 'spending ban' concept was. Oh how I laughed. Well... After examining my bursting cupboard and having only 3 months to make a hole in my collection, I knew I had to do something. So I came to the difficult, heart-wrenching decision to not buy any more products until I've completely ran out. Why buy a new shower gel when I've already got 9? I'd rather be turning those hard earned sterling into sweet sweet dollars for when I leave the country.
Spending Ban, Money, Sterling
Maybe I'm weird (who am I kidding? There's definitely no 'maybe' about that), but I get excited when a pot I've been using runs empty. I love the feeling of finishing something and chucking it into the recycling. Probably because I am very sad and have no life.

Since I've implemented my ban, I've finished several mini shower gels, Ruth Romano bath salts, Soap & Glory Calm One Calm All bubble bath, Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter, REN Hot Cloth Cleanser and a few other things I've lost track of. I know that if I hadn't banned myself from buying more then these products would still be sitting half empty (half full?) in my cupboard.

I am also trying to implement this ban into my awful tea buying habit. I have over 30 (no kidding) different types of tea. I have a serious problem and I admit that I failed and purchased some beautiful Twinings Salted Caramel Green Tea. However I redeemed myself on a recent 48 hour trip to Spain by picking up a box of delicious tea and putting it back down. Wow, achievement!

Are you a weirdo too who gets great pleasure from finishing things? Haha!

  1. I'm struggling with the same things. Currently I have about 20 types of tea and 15 types of bath products at home. Not more, because I've been trying to buy less recently...

    1. Try! I also find that everything decides to run out at the same time... Except shampoo and conditioner. Why does conditioner ALWAYS run out first? Haha.

  3. I am useless at spending bans. I get that feeling when I have finished a product too, it's the same with the Empties posts x

  4. I'm the same, I always somehow end up with too many products and now I'm doing my best to use them all up. Good luck with finishing your tea ;)
