Life Update - Travelling NZ (aka Too Busy to Blog)

Hello all!

Just an update. I'm camping and travelling around New Zealand until the end of December. Internet is hard to come by here so Tea in the Tub will be taking a mini break until I'm back in the UK at some point in January.

I started in Christchurch which I last visited in 2011 shortly after the earthquake. It takes more than 4 years to rebuild a city but it was nice to see the progress.

I'm currently in Arrowtown (Lord of the Rings fangirl heaven) then visiting Queenstown for a couple of days to enjoy the scenery. I'm living in a tent which isn't so bad and have a hired car which is due in Auckland at the end of the month so I'll be getting the ferry to North Island fairly soon. I'm prepared with sickness tablets this time after learning the hard way that this is one of the worlds roughest crossings. BLEUGH!

I couldn't check in to my flight from Australia to New Zealand without an ongoing flight so quickly decided that I'll be spending New Years in Tokyo! I'm so excited. Originally I was going to go home via Singapore or Hong Kong but the flight to Tokyo was cheaper and too tempting to resist.

Any advice and tips for Japan or New Zealand would be hugely appreciated. I'm able to check messages whenever I come across free wifi so feel free to contact me.

Have you been to either of these countries? Where I  the world would you love to spend NYE?

  1. You inspire me so much. If I didn't have my OH and dog I'd be doing something similar to you but just now have to live vicariously though you and other bloggers.
Cannot wait to see and hear all about your amazing travels. Hope you arrive/d home safely!

    1. Sorry for the late response. Thank you! One day you'll do it. I've met a retired couple travelling the world. If they can do it, anyone can.

  2. I am so excited to see your blog and come full circle in my hops. Thank you to all you fabulous bloggers for doing this. I loved getting the chance to meet and learn from you at My opinion is unscented merchandise to have a few sort of aroma and this reminds me a little like play dough however dont allow that put you off as it's honestly pretty a pleasant scent.I'm working at Out of Home Advertising in Ludhiana it is made with herbal oils, licorice root and excessive quality Hanuka honey, renowned for its medicinal properties. (A nutritionist buddy of mine researched Hanuka for her college dissertation and swears we need to all be using it.
