H2woaaahh! Supercharged Water with Ion8 - Review

With the new year comes a fresh start towards our health and fitness goals. One goal I believe is achievable and will benefit everyone is to drink more water. Water is the best beauty product for your skin and body. Other than needing it to live (well duh!) it also reduces joint pain, rids toxins, oxygenates blood and helps us concentrate. With my anatomy and physiology exam next week, I need all the help concentrating I can get.
Since the summer, I have been drinking from my 550ml Ultimate Ion8 bottle which is not any old bottle, but a supercharging bottle.

Ion8 has an easy flow design so instead of the bottle compressing as you drink from it, it simply flows as though you are drinking from your personal leak-proof tap. The bottle itself is odor resistant and can carry hot and cold drinks but and the most important thing for me from a plastic bottle is that it is BPA & phthalade free and non-toxic.

I really like the concave, easy-grip design and the fact that it has the measurements on the side so you can keep track of how much you've drank. Being heavily into fitness, I have tried several bottles and Ion8 is definitely the best designed. My partner has one on his wish-list as he keep uses mine in taekwondo.

Unlike other bottles, Ion8 believe their bottle can boost the amount of ions within the water. Ions do many things within out body such as making our muscles contract so this claim isn't something to look past lightly. This apparently works on a shake-to-activate kind of basis. I'll let the company explain:

"The ion8 band is impregnated with crystals that naturally have a magnetic force field. As water passes, this force field causes disruption in the water molecules, resulting in measurable electron shifts*. The disrupted water molecules take on a charge through this shift in electrons, and is ionized.
* Using a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Test"

Their claims have been tested and verified by SGS but to date there is no conclusive scientific evidence so you'll have to make up your own mind. Whether this can be proved or not, I have been using this bottle since the summer and love it. It is small and light enough to take on my daily commute to uni in Cardiff (I shudder when I see course mates buy disposable plastic bottles everyday) and I enjoy drinking from it which encourages me to drink more. This is the most important thing to me and anything that gets me drinking 1.5ltrs or more a day is a winner.

Ion8 do a whole variety of bright colours and sizes ranging from kiddie 350ml bottles to gym bunny 1ltr bottles. A bottle for everyone!

How do you stay hydrated? Do you take a bottle to work/uni with you or do you buy disposable ones?

    1. I've seen some really nice glass ones too but I'm always chucking my bad around so worry if I buy one I'll end up with a bag of shattered glass.
