|Face Matters – 24/7 Balm, All Day Spritz, Evening Elixir*|
A few weeks ago I was sent the Face Matters skincare range to test. Face Matters is a capsule skincare company featuring only 5 products. 24/7 Balm, All Day Spritz, Evening Elixir, Morning Moisture and Anytime Cleanser. Each is made with active botanical oils and natural, organic silicon to promote our skins production of collegen and elastin – key elements to keep our skin young. They are designed to be used in conjunction with each other, though they can be used alone. Face Matters is a reasonably new company that launched in 2012. It focus’s on simple, natural ingredients which makes this a wonderful range for those with sensitive skin. Each product is full of organic silicon which reduced the appearance of lines and wrinkles. You can read all the sciencey stuff here.
24/7 Balm is by far my favourite in the range as it is just so versatile. It can be used as a cleanser by massaging a small amount over your face and neck and washed off with warm water or with a muslin cloth for gentle exfoliation. It is also a great intensive mask. I put some on before bed and washed it off in the morning for really soft skin. I even put some on before I ran to make my post-run shower more of a treat and my boyfriend put some under his eyes to reduce his dark circles. It is also good for chapped lips, minor cuts and dry feet! Is there anything this wonder balm cannot do?
Unfortunately I was not overly keen on the Anytime Cleanser [No Picture]. It foams up wonderfully and certainly does the job of cleansing, but it left my skin “squeaky” clean rather than soft and smooth. I also did not like the smell. It was too lemony for me, reminding me of bathroom cleaners rather than skincare. I left my Face Matters products in the bathroom so naturally it got used by other family members and unlike me, my mother adored the aroma and has asked me several times to borrow it.
Another product my mum has rated highly is the Evening Elixir and I completely agree. Like the other products it has the scent of roses and soothing jasmin. I found it a real delight to use. As the title suggests, this needs to be applied last thing at night after cleansing else you’ll be walking around with a very shiny face. The oils sink in and get to work overnight and you will wake up with a baby soft face.
Morning Moisture [No Picture] is a fantastic everyday use moisturiser. It is really light and non-greasy so great to use in the morning before applying your make-up and starting the day. Sometimes I find that by the afternoon my problem dry-skin areas are noticeable but I only have to apply this once a day and my skin stays moisturised. However, the smell of roses can be almost overwhelming. If it was not so heavily scented, then this product would be impeccable.
|All Day Spritz|
I have always been sceptical of spritzers but I can now say that I am a convert. Unlike others, All Day Spritz does not make your face feel tight. It quickly absorbs into your skin leaving you feeling refreshed. I’ve found it lovely to use on breaks at work when I’ve felt fatigued and drained. It is odourless and packed full of pure collegen helping to tone the skin and reduce the appearance of lines, keeping your skin hydrated.
As you’ve read, I was spoiled with these luxurious treats I received. Overall I loved the products and will continue to use them. The cleanser will be kindly donated to my mum (the remaining drops she hasn’t yet used). After following this skincare regime for several weeks, I can say that I have noticed a change in my skin. I am naturally pale with a dull complexion but now my skin looks more radiant with natural colour in my cheeks. I am very happy with how my skin is looking as I’m often paranoid that I look sickly pale but I actually look healthy. These are some very high quality products and this is reflected in the quality of oils, fatty acids and vitamins used. If you are a fan of floral scents, particularly rose and if you want a skincare range where you will see visible results in only a matter of weeks, then try Face Matters.
Have you ever used Face Matters? What do you think ‘capsule’ skincare ranges? Have you ever been sceptical about a product only to be surprised by the results?
