It’s been too long since I posted about chocolate and who doesn’t love chocolate? “But Helen! Chocolate is bad for you!” Well dear friend, let me introduce you to Ohso, the chocolate that is actually good for you! Yep, I said it. Healthy chocolate does exist and this one comes in your post.
I discovered Ohso whilst flicking through an issue of now discontinued magazine Zest. I was intrigued by a chocolate-by-post subscription and was even more intrigued when I read that it’s only 72 calories a bar, 3 times more effective at giving you healthy bacteria than yoghurt drinks and dairy free!!
Ohso had just released it’s chocolate orange flavour when I signed up and I have a slight obsession with that flavour combo (I have handwash and bath melts with this scent). A few days later and my weeks supply came. The bars are so cute as they are in little squares like regular sized chocolate bars. I think anything mini-fied is super cute. So yeah, do not expect gigantic 200g bars. These are 13.5g each which I think is the ideal size for a guilt-free chocolaty treat. Dark chocolate is full of antioxidants so a fantastic thing to include in your diet. Dark chocolate haters don’t be put off. These tasty bars aren’t bitter tasting, in fact it’s very sweet and creamy. A perfect bar suitable for everyone.
Ohso were at Natural & Organic Products Europe which I attended last month (read here), with their brand new sugar free version. Dairy free + gluten free + sugar free = taste free? Nope, I honestly couldn’t tell the difference. The sugar free version also knocks the calories down to 63.
Ohso costs £3.99 for a weeks supply. Not cheap but if you break it down that’s only 57p per bar which is cheaper than a saturated fat filled bar in the shop. You can subscribe for a weekly delivery or buy as one-offs. They are always doing promos such as one weeks free trial with your first week half price so really you have nothing to lose and perhaps lots of chocolate to gain.
Do you know any other naughty-treats that are actually good for you? What are you favourite chocolate flavour combos?
