Hello everyone! So, to what may be a great surprise to you – I am not Helen from Tea in the Tub! Nope. In fact, this fine lady has ever so graciously allowed me (Clair) from Beauty or Something to write a guest post for her. If you haven’t heard of our blog and would like to check it out, you can do so here.
Anyways, recently I have collected quite a few products from the brand Shea Moisture and wanted to share my thoughts with you. Enjoy!
This is meant to be for dry, damaged hair and while I don’t necessarily have dry or damaged hair, I purchased this anyways – mainly because it has a pump. I love the idea of hair products that come in a bottle like this one. There’s no squeezing, dropping, shaking, or jerking the bottle around in the shower trying to get the product out (and having it fly out of your hand and land on your toe) – it’s genius. Genius as it is, I was so disappointed with this product! I was so excited about the pump, but come around time to using it, it was so hard to work with. It’s very stiff so the conditioner does not come out easily – I had to use two hands to get product out of the pump. The conditioner itself is pretty thin and doesn’t go very far. I found myself going back for more pumps two-three more times in the process of conditioning my hair. I also found that this conditioner (while made for dry and damaged hair) didn’t make a difference in the moisture level of my hair whatsoever. I love Shea Moisture and the smell of this product, but I wouldn’t recommend it nor will I be purchasing it again.
I love this product SO much. I honestly cannot express how much this product has changed my skin. I started using body oils before the shower after hearing about it from The Beauty Department’s blog and it has cured my dry, scaly-legs! My legs are moisturised and no longer itch or burn after getting out of the shower. I usually apply sweet almond oil before the shower, but I saw Shea Moisture’s oils in Target one day and decided to give them a go! This oil smells incredible. It’s difficult describing the smell of Frankincense & Myrrh, but it’s a little musky and very luxurious. I adore this body oil. But, the ingredients list impresses me even more – Shea oil, safflower oil, argan oil, vitamin e, jojoba oil, rosehip oil, vitamin a, frankincense oil, myrrh extract, and black pepper oil. Highly recommend!
This is the sister product to the massage oil – it has the same lovely scent and ultra-moisturising properties. This lotion is beautiful. It’s almost like a hybrid between a body butter and a body lotion because it’s thinner than a butter, but much more luxurious and rich than a typical lotion. I find that a little goes a long way with this product, so the bottle lasts me more than a couple weeks. Considering the quality for the price, this is a great buy and I will be repurchasing in the future!
Have you tried any Shea Moisture products? What did you think of them?
Happy Reading, Gorgeous!
